About the Author:
K.M. Mathew was born in Kandathil family as the seventh son of K.C. Mammen Mappillai and Kunjandamma (Mami) in 1917. he is Chief Editor of the Malayala Manorama newspaper, and former chairman of the Press Trust of India, the Indian Newspaper Society, and the Audit Bureau of Circulations, and founder trustee of the Press Institute of India and the Research Institute for Newspaper Development. He was honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 1998.
At the age of eighty-six, a veteran newspaperman wrote his first book: a tender memoir of his wife who had passed away a year earlier. K.M. Mathew's book brings alive memories of sixtyone years of married life, and portrays a time and a world gone by. It is the account of two people who came from very different backgrounds and ended up shaping a life together; a remembrance of their tears and laughter, their coming together and parting.
Mrs K.M. Mathew left us for ever on 10 july 2003. This book, originally published in Malayalam on the occasion of her first death anniversary, is an offering of love in memory of her, for her readers everywhere.
