One of the most renowned Wildlife Sanctuaries of India, Gir is the only natural habitat of the Asiatic Lion. The book is an important and valuable resource covering various aspects of the lion’s life cycle, the ecology of Gir and other animals who share ‘the habitat, like the Chowsingha (the world’s only four horned antelope), Sambar (Indian I Deer), Striped Hyena, Magar (Marsh Crocodile), Indian Fox, among others. The author has also shared interesting observations and pictures from his personal collection, making it an informative and enlightening journey for the readers.

About the Author

Dr. H.S. Singh is a retired Indian Forest Service officer and former Principal Chief Conservator of Forests in the state of Gujarat. He served as Member of National Board for Wildlife and Member, Gujarat State Board for Wildlife. He held various positions in forestry and wildlife sector and also worked as Chief Wildlife Warden of Gujarat and Head of Social Forestry Wing and Chairman, Gujarat Biodiversity Board, Gandhinagar. Dr. Singh has earned several national and international awards and published numerous books, several scientific documents and over four dozen scientific articles in national and inter- national journals. He has a long association with the Gir forest and the Gir lion.

A Statue was ordered on Dec 22nd and Paid 194.25 including FREE DELIVERY for me as a GIFT for Christmas and they Confirmed that it will be there in 4-5 days but it NEVER arrived till 30th of December and inspite of my various emails they only replied that it is being finished and will be shipped in 24hrs but that was a LIE and no further delivery information was every sent to me. I called and left a message on the phone number listed on their website which is a NY number but no one answered that phone and I left messages but no reply or update on my Statue was sent to me inspite of my daily emails to know the status. I still await this Statue but NO RESPONSIBLE REPLY.
