Giving up his successful law practice, Rajaji became one of Mahatma Gandhi's closest associates. Always loyal, he was never afraid to give his own opinion or oppose what he felt were wrong decisions. Later, he even started his own political party.

After Independence, Rajaji became the Governor General of India and then held many important political offices. A scholar with a razor-sharp wit, he ws a true patriot who dedicated his life to democracy and social reform.
