Fast Food (Tips on How Not to Fast)
Look Inside the Book
Description

About the Book

India’s diversity applies as much to food as it does to its cultures and beliefs. Fasting is one such ritual that comes with its customized dos and don’ts. For most people, fasting means just one thing: abstaining from food. But this self-denial, usually, is done to extremes. If you are food enthusiast, fasting can mean feasting later. If it is not, it could be harmful if done wrong. So what is the right way to fast? What does fasting mean and why do we do it? Get tips on how to fast and how not to, from Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

About the Author

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a spiritual leader and humanitarian, was born in 1956 in southern India. He was often found deep in meditation as a child. At the age of four, he astonished his teachers by reciting the Bhagavad Gita. Gurudev founded The Art of Living, an educational and humanitarian organisation, through which his teachings and service initiatives have touched the lives of 370 million people worldwide. Today with a presence in over 156 countries, The Art of Living is one of the largest volunteer-based organisations in the world.

This is to inform you that the shipment of my order has arrived in perfect condition. The actual shipment took only less than two weeks, which is quite good seen the circumstances. I waited with my response until now since the Buddha statue was a present that I handed over just recently. The Medicine Buddha was meant for a lady who is active in the healing business and the statue was just the right thing for her. I downloaded the respective mantras and chants so that she can work with the benefits of the spiritual meanings of the statue and the mantras. She is really delighted and immediately fell in love with the beautiful statue. I am most grateful to you for having provided this wonderful work of art. We both have a strong relationship with Buddhism and know to appreciate the valuable spiritual power of this way of thinking. So thank you very much again and I am sure that I will come back again.
