Book Description
Foreword

Diaries of intimate devotees of Mahatmas become source books of information about how they lived Vedanta which they taught, the way of their teaching, their characteristics as Jivanmukta and their Sarvatmabhava as spontaneous love and compassion.

Ma Devaki, one of the most intimate devotees of Yogi Maharaj has maintained a diary titled "Bhiksha from the Divine Bhikshu" or "Crumbs from the Master's Table." Yogi used to call himself a Beggar, which means Bhikshu. In Srimad Bhagavata when Uddhava visits Brindavan, a gopi says addressing a bee that those people who seek this Krishna with extraordinarily intense fervour are ultimately led to renounce everything and go about as Bhikshu. Obviously, Yogi is that God-mad. He says that Papa Ramdas gave him that madness.

In this Diary, we find His very important statements about renunciation, sannyasins, Vedas and Vedic culture. He says with great emotion and with tears... "This is the holy land where sadhus have always been well-protected. Great masters come in the form of beggars, Bhikshus..... India is their Lilabhumi. Beggars are mentioned in the Vedas." He goes on.... "Vedas are everything. They must be protected at all costs.... Even if you don't understand Vedic chanting, go to the place and merely listen to it. That will do good. Chanting without understanding will also do good.’’
