Introduction
The Hospitals are becoming one of the most crowded areas with the corridors swarming with patients. The healthy world is gradually transforming into a diseased state where there are very few healthy individuals and more of sick people. But Ayurveda targets not only curing the diseases but also in maintaining health in the healthy. It recommends ways to remain healthy and identify the stages prior to a disease and its treatment so that the pathology can be cut off and occurrence of the disease can be stopped. Diabetes is becoming a potential epidemic, with India reporting more than 62 million diabetic patients. There was a time when India even topped the world with highest number of diabetics. It is very interesting to see what Ayurveda has to offer in this particular disease. Unique to any other system of medicine, Ayurveda identifies 20 different types of Prameha.

The text mentions curable and incurable diabetes. The physician has to identify the stage in which the patient is and then the apt treatment has to be done. Lifestyle and dietary habits are very important for a diabetic person.

Though Ayurveda conveys the basic concepts identically throughout the various classical texts, there are different therapies and medicinal combinations proposed by the Acarya's in each text. Hence a complete compilation was done from the major .four classical texts of Ayurveda, to understand and analyze the options 'available in treating this disease. This also helps us analyze comparatively the similarities and differences across the classical texts. Professionals have the option of following the text of their choice and a compilation in this manner helps us to pick the relevant topics required by the reader. The texts mentions simple changes in lifestyle and diet to major cleansing procedures. Separate treatment protocols for the rich and the poor is another special characteristic that the classical texts offer. Such a compilation has not been done before on Prameha with the complete indexing of the symptoms, and their frequencies. This book is a humble, to fill that void.
