ABOUT THE AUTHOR Dr. K.M. Suresh (B. 1952) presently working as Director (Museum) in the Kannada University Hampi, Vodyaranya-583 276 in Kamataka Dr. Suresh served in the Archae ological Survey of India 1976 to 1996 in various capacities in the Archaeological Museum at Bijapur: Hampi, Aihole and Badami in Karnataka and Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh. He has been active field worker and excavator in the Excavation Branch IV Archaeological Survey of India, Bhubaneswar in Orissa.

He is member for many academic societies and a guide to Ph. D.. scholars in Kannada University, Hampi

Prof: Laxman Telagavi (b. 1947) is a retired Professor of History from Kannada History and Culture and also on Pelegars of Karnataka. He is authoritative on Chitradurga History and Culture. Recently he has edited book on Karnataka Judical Administration of Pelegars of Karnataka in honour of Retired Justice H. R.

Prasad. He has been awarded with many prestigious awards namely Sri Guru Ravidasaratna National Award 2003; Mahasanta Joyotiba Purle National Award 2005; and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Award in 2006.
