It is heartening to note that the Bulletin a monthly journal of the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Gol Park, Had completed the Golden Jubilee year of its publication history in 2000. It is needless to say that since its inception in 1950, the Bulletin has been a harbinger of a new epoch in the cultural vis a vis intellectual domain of India and abroad. Initially there were the cyclostyled issues of the journal. Subsequently form 1953, onwards, hte journal began to appear in print. During its long strides, the Bulletin had brought to the fore the whole gamut of human knowledge while embellishing its pages with the lectures on varied subjects which were delivered at the Institute by the celebrities belonging to different stations of life. The journal along with such lectures published other valued contributions of eminent men of letters. Such contributions ranged between science and religion, literature and history, philosophy and culture and what not.
The Bulletin as a cultureal and intellectual forum of the Institute, has played a very significant role during this long span of its journey. We have gleaned both the lectures and writings on Sri Ramakrishna from the pages of the 60-years old Bulletin on Sri Ramakrishna form the page of the 60-year old bulletin to publish them in the form of a book as a humble salutation of the Institute to Sri Ramakrishna on the 175 year of his advent.
It is indeed gratifying to see that Sri Ramakrishna: Myraid Facets, as the book has been entitled to is brought out by the Institute.
We have published the writings in two sections. In the first selection the lectures as well as the papers of the first section, the lectures as well as the papers of the revered sannyasins have appeared in seniority of age of the respective monks.
In the second section, we have arranged the papers and lectures in order of their respective years of Publication.
In all, this book is adorn with thirty two articles which have shown the wonder man that was Sri Ramakrishna.
It this book illumines the souls of the devotees both at home and abroad, it would, it would be deemed a worthwhile endeavour.
