Navgrah Poojan Vidhan

Indian saints and sages were the first in the world to attain spiritual knowledge and the truths of the universe. The navgraha - Surya, Chandra, mangal, budh, brihaspati, shukra, shani, rahu and ketu with their position and revolution of Sun find a description in the most ancient scriptures of the world the ved and Puraan. The science of astrology began with the knowledge of Indian sages about the universe. The effects of all the graha were studies in detail. The people of the world initially considered earth to be stationary and they assumed that moon and sun revolved around earth. India gave them the knowledge that the sun is stationary and other graha revolve around it.

After observing the navgraha for years the Indian scholars studies their pace and position and obtained knowledge about their effects on humans and earth’s atmosphere. The Indian scholars devised various grah poojan and rituals to prevent humans from the evil effects of the graha after learning the good and evil but navgraha poojan have especial scientific and spiritual significance to maintain grah shanti. The Indian scholars have provided an invincible kavach fro prevention form the evil effects of the grah by inventing navgraha poojan and mantra.

The prayer of navgraha and the rituals performed to sober their temper is called navgraha poojan. The custom of navgraha poojan is popular before every birthday, marriage festival, building, of house and business. Navgraha poojan before any auspicious event not only prevent the evil effects of graha but also invoke them to bring prosperity and happiness.

The Shloka Om brahma muraritripurantarkari bhanuh shashi bhumisuto budhashch | gurushcha shukrah shani rahuketavah sarve grahah shantikara bhavantu is recited at any auspicious occasion while performing navgraha poojan with proper rites and rituals to ensure sobriety of all graha. This shloka means: O Brahma Mahesh, Surya, Chandra, Mangal, Budh, Guru, Shukra, Shani, Rahu Ketu shower peace and prosperity!

All human beings are under the effect of navgraha at the time of birth and according to their moon signs. The effect of any graha can be good or evil the janma-kundali. In such a situation navgraha pooja is performed for protection from the evil effects the graha. Proper prayer with rites and rituals yagya and daan ensure peace and harmony.
