About the CD
Experience Empowerment through Jaagran
Jaagran, literally meaning wakefulness, is observed in the honour of Goddess Shakti or Devi Maa and involves chanting of her mantras through the night. The nine day and nights of Navratri are totally dedicated to this Devi Maa and includes fasts, Strictly vegetarian diets, jap, chanting religious hymns prayer, meditation and recitation of sacred texts related to Devi Maa.

Celebrated generally during September or October, the main ritual of the festival can be identified as the placing of images of the Goddess in homes and temples. A grand Ceremony is ceremony is held where fruits and flowers are offered to the Goddess and ‘bhajans’ (hymns) in her honour are sung.

In Gujarat, it is a community event, where people perform devotional songs and dances that are popular by the names of Dandiya Raas and Garba Raas, and observe Jaagran (waking through the night). In Bengali, beautifully made huge idols of the Goddess are worshipped, devotional songs and dances are performed, followed by a grand procession on the tenth day when the idols are immersed in water. The last four days of the festival are considered as most important here. During these four days, people worship pre-pubescent young girls known as ‘ kanyas ‘ as embodiments of Goddess. Ayudha Puja’ is performed on the ninth day where one worship the tools and implements of their livelihood and places it on the altar of the Goddess for her blessings of success and prosperity, it serves to remind one to uphold one’s responsibility as a sacred duty on the divine. On the tenth day of Dusseshra, Devotees perform ‘Saraswati Puja’ for blessing of knowledge and mental peace and Durga for her victory over the mighty demon-king Mahishasur

Invoke the blessing of the all-pervading Mother Goddess and imbiber her power in your being through this album get empowered by her Shakti!

I received the Green Tara Thangka described below right on schedule. Thank you a million times for that. My teacher loved it and was extremely moved by it. Although I have seen a lot of Green Tara thangkas, and have looked at other Green Tara Thangkas you offer and found them all to be wonderful, the one I purchased is by far the most beautiful I have ever seen -- or at least it is the one that most speaks to me.

Your website store is a really great place to find the most wonderful books and artifacts from beautiful India. I have been traveling to India over the last 4 years and spend 3 months there each time staying with two Bengali families that I have adopted and they have taken me in with love and generosity. I love India. Thanks for doing the business that you do. I am an artist and, well, I got through I think the first 6 pages of the book store on your site and ordered almost 500 dollars in books... I'm in trouble so I don't go there too often.. haha.. Hari Om and Hare Krishna and Jai.. Thanks a lot for doing what you do.. Great !
