Shri Narayan, also known as Shri Hari or Bhagwan Vishnu represents the supreme reality that
preserves and sustains the universe. It is said that a prayer to lord Narayan, is a prayer to
Appearig in the world either to correct some great evil of to bring about some great good on
earth, in each form Shri Narayan has embodied various divine qualities. As Parashurama he was
the man of power, as Rama the divine sage and as kalki the saviour. In all his various
manifestations Shri Narayan or lord Vishnu has established himself as the only preserver of
The quest for this preserver God in the Hindu trinity has led many devotees to this one simple
chant "Om Namoh Narayan", that takes us into the realm of higher spiritual awareness. Narayan
Dhun, a musical rendition of this effective mantra composed by Shri Venu Gopal Goswami ji is an
experience of being close to the one who is eternally unchangeable and immutable.
Shri Chaitaqnya Sampradayachrya Shri Venu Gopal Goswamiji was born in the lineage of Sri Gopal
Bhatta Goswami, the successor to Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, on Sharad Purnuma in 1961, in the
city of Vrindaban, the playground of Lord Krishna. He obtained a bachelor's degree at the
Benaras Hindu University in Sanskrit, philosophy, Ancient Indian history and Archeology. Later
he joined center for advanced studies in Sanskrit at Poona's University for his Master's degree
in Vedanta. In pursuit of higher learings, Venu Gopalji returned to Varanasi (the city of
learning). Sitting at the feet of his Guru Prof. T.R.V.Murti (who taught at the Harvard
University) deeper meanings of Bhakti-shastra were unraveled to him.
The five hundred year old family tradition of preaching Srimad Bhagvat Purana has been passed
on to him by him by his father Sant Sri Purushottam Goswamiji Maharaj, who is a leading
authority on it himself.
In ancient India the hymns from the Vedas were recited with music. Keeping the same tradition
alive Venu Gopalji has evolved a unique style of singing shlokas of Bhagvad Purana and
explaining them. He received his formal training in Indian classical music from the renowned
vocalist Sri Padmavibhushan Pandit Jasraj.
Goswamji has preached for over a decade in 55 cities of 22 countries. His teachings have
beefited many in solving problems in their daily lives. He believes that the teachings of
Bhagvad Purana can only remove the suffering in Kaliyug. Sant Venu Gopal Goswami is a young
Acharya in Radha Raman, one of the oldest temples of Vrindaban.
A musical rendition of the simple mantra "Om Namoh Narayana", Narayan Dhun will fill each of us
with a sense of devotion and oneness with the Supreme Divine Reality.
