The elegance of the gorgeous maiden’s poetic tunes has been given a human form in this painting you see, that looks no less than a melodic tune. Using her side profile and stylized physical features, the art shows the beautiful lady holding her fine red Odhani (scarf) reminding us of the traditional Bandhej textile of Rajasthan. Her dark-as-the-night tresses of hair look charming, contrasted by the red in the Odhani and the golden glow of her skin. The magnificence of her form can be equated with her impressive jewellery, consisting of gold, precious jewels, and pearls.

The colour red dominates the painting with its presence in her Odhani, jewellery, and the henna, she has applied on her palm. Two yet-to-bloom lotus flowers can be seen in hand, a fitting component in this picture of youth, beauty, and elegance.
