A teapot made of richly coloured porcelain. A maroon so deep, it almost comes across as dark brown. Black-coloured knob of the lid as well as the rim of the head, the handle, and the mouth of the teapot. An elegant work of art that would be a pleasure for an elegant family to view and handle every day.
It is probably well past teatime. THe empty teapot is set in a dirty corner of the kitchen, to be cleaned out later whenever there is some leisure amidst the dinner preparations. Surrounding the teapot are half-eaten tea things such as cut fruit and those that no one has touched during tea on account of their being the least juicy.
From the colour and texture of the linen beneath these things, it looks like a designated spot for dirty ware.
