Padmasana postured Medicine Buddha, also known as Bhaisajyaguru, has his large eyes closed in deep meditation. As the name suggests, he is the one who cures sufferings using the medicine of his teachings. He sits on a unique, heighted multilayered pedestal, carved enormously and holds a lapis colored jar of medicine nectar in his left hand and right hand rests on the right knee, holding the stem of the Aruna fruit or Myrobalan between his thumb and forefinger; draped in this enticing robe that falls in absolute perfection and has patches of decorated symbols spread evenly.
The awe struck aspect is the combo of the carved halos at the back formed in supreme divinity having a beaded border and framed in beauteous row of the sacred lotus. The composure of his countenance is that of desirelesness and equanimity accompanied by the iconic long earlobes and the third eye of wisdom on the forehead. He preached twelve vows to heal the ills of the samsara and attain clairvoyance.
