Mahima Katiwal, hailing from Indore, India, is a talented painter whose cardinal medium of art practice is painting. Early on, Mahima's inclination towards visual arts was evident when she sketched cartoon characters from newspapers and magazines. After completing her 12th grade, she pursued a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the International Fine Arts Academy in Indore, where she achieved the first position in the university's merit list for the 2019-2020 academic year.
Subsequently, Mahima furthered her academic journey and earned a Master's degree in painting from the Government Institute of Fine Arts in Indore in 2023. Throughout her academic years, she honed her skills by practicing live sketches at places such as Railway Stations and museums, adeptly capturing emotions with just a few lines.
Mahima's artistic focus primarily lies in acrylic medium, where she endeavors to exhibit both vibrancy and rigidity simultaneously, reflecting the limitations that her work carries with itself. Drawing inspiration from daily life scenes and objects, she infuses her artworks with emotions to create a captivating sense of realism.
Her talent and dedication have not gone unnoticed, as Mahima has participated in over 10 exhibitions at the state and national levels. Furthermore, her artwork was chosen for the prestigious international women's art festival 'FRIDA,' hosted by the Tirane Art Gallery in Albania. Undeterred by challenges, she continues to explore and experiment, poised for more creative endeavors in the future.
