It is my great pleasure to write a forward of a book on "African Swine Fever A Socio-Economic Impact in Mizoram by Department of Economics, Pachhunga University College.
The outbreak of ASF needs to be technically and empirically investigated to ensure prevention, reducing the risk and vulnerability of pig farming. It is also important to examine the loss of pig farmers in terms of social and economic aspects. It is needless to say that many people mainly depends their livelihood only in pig farming especially rural areas. Furthermore, the book has many significant findings and suggestions based on the empirical study which will be beneficial for all stakeholders in piggery sector.
I do hope that the book will be extremely useful for academicians, research scholars, policy makers and the Nodal Department.
