The Arthasagraha of Laugakshibhaskara has been for long looked upon as one of the very few manuals giving an accurate idea of the subject of Purvamimamasa shastra the Bhattasampradaya. Some of the scholars have opined that this Arthasangraha is an abridged edition of Mimamsanyayaprakasha and some others felt that Mimamasa nyayaprakasha itself is an enlarged edition of Arthasangraha. But both these two are composed to introduce the Mimamasa doctrines briefly and gracefully. There are a few commentaries like Arthasangrahakaumudi, Arthapratipadika, Arthaloka and Amala in Sanskrit for Arthasangraha. Among these Arthasangrahakaumudi of Sri Rameshvarabhikshu is an exhaustive commentary and it interprets the text of Arthasangraha elaborately. Following this many scholars have composed commentaries for this book in English, Hindi and in some other Indian languages. But there is not any good book to facilitate the study of Arthasangraha for the enthusiastic Telugu readers. I have requested my dear friend Mahakavi Prof. Madhusudan Penna Dean Faculty of Indian Philosophy and Culture, Kavikulaguru Kalidasa Sanskrit University, Ramtek, Nagpur to write commentary in Telugu. Prof. Madhusudan a well-versed scholar of various shastras and a product of prestigious Sanskrit department of Osmania University has accepted my request and sent me with Telugu Commentary within a short period.
