Book Description
FOREWORD

It is a great pleasure to write a foreword to a book entitled the Aryans in the Race of Mankind and Civilization by Mr. Durgadas Bandyopadhyay, a veteran historian, who has spent nearly twenty- five years in his life for writing such a stupendous and gigantic historical research book for future generation. The book has sixteen chapters with many sub-headings. The writer has actually begins his book from the birth of the Universe (Chapters I, II, III) and the origin of man and animals (Chapters IV, V, VI) and has shown step by step how the civilization (Chapts. VII, VIII, IX) of human race came into existence. In his discussions the author has delineated lots of latest archaeological (Ch. XI) and historical and linguistic (Chapts. IX, X) evidences to prove that the civilization of the Aryans is, in fact, much older than what is accepted now. As far as our present knowledge goes, the earliest civilization dates from 4000 B.C. in Mesopotamia where we find that the Sumerian settlements of Sumer and Akkad in Tigris and Euphrates valley were made. Nearly at a little later time in Egypt, the Egyptians started settling in Nile Valley. Almost at the same time, the first written records in Cuneiform writings were made available. At about 3500 B.C. the first Assyrian settlements started. it was at that time the invention of Hierographics was made By 3500 BC. The Chinese settlement in Yellow River Valley started. Between 4000-3000 BC. The Pyramid Texts were composed In Western Europe, Neolithic settlers from Asia Minor arrived in Danube valley.

In India at about 3000 BC. the growth of the cities of Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro in Indus Valley began to appear in the horizon (cf. Ch. XII). From that time onwards till the invasion of the Aryans from Central Asia (cf. Chapts. XIII, XIV), the Indian history was filled up by the Pauranic rulers of India, like Yayatı period (3000- 2750 BC), Mandhätt period (2750-2550 B.C) Parasuram period (2550-2350 BC), Ramchandra period (2350-1950 BC) and Krishna period (1950-1400 B.C.) The history says that sometimes in 1400 B.C. the Bharata war was held. The history further says that the Rk- Samhita was compiled in 1500 B.C. (cf. Chapts. XV, XVI) and since then the literary history of India has been going on till to-day. This then is the brief history of human history and civilization, and so long the human history is guided with these research materials discovered so far.

But the present book, The Aryans, of Mr. Bandyopadhyay has proved that the latest discoveries of the world have nulled all the earlier discoveries and evidences. The writer has therefore, started his book from the beginning of the creation of the Universe and the origin of men. He has ransacked all the latest historical, archaeological and linguistic evidences to trace back the existence of human civilization from a very hoary antiquity. We will have to go many thousand years back for human history, and particularly of the history of India. On the basis of his researches, the datings of Indian History will have to be reconstructed. From that point of view, the present book is extremely valuable.
