Aśramakanyā is a Felicitation Vol- ume prepared in the honour of Pro- fessor Kalpika Mukherjee who had super-annuated from the Department of Sanskrit, Pali and Prakrit, Visva- Bharati, Santiniketan in 2004 and is a constant source of inspiration to the Indologists in the eastern India. The book contains around 81 articles of memoirs and on various valuable branches in Indology. Readers inter- ested in Indic studies would find here seminal papers on the Vedas, Upanisads, Indian Philosophy, Gram- mar, Poetics, Classical and Modern Sanskrit Literature, Arthaśāstra, Smrtiśāstra, Yoga, Buddhism, Bhakti, Vāstu, Itihāsa and on Translation Studies.
Prof. Arun Ranjan Mishra teaches Sanskrit in the Department of Sanskrit, Pali and Prakrit, Visva- Bharati (Central University), Santiniketan. Well-known as a poet and critic in Sanskrit and Odia litera- ture, he has to his credit 15 books of creative writing, 25 books of research and more than 150 research papers in Indology. Classical and modern Sanskrit literature, Aesthetics, Poet- ics, Veda and Indian Philosophy are his fields of interest. He also happens to be the Vice-President to All India Oriental Conference (51st Session).
Prof. Lalita Chakraborty teaches Sanskrit in the afore-said Department. She is famous as a teacher, speaker and writer in the fields of Indian Phi- losophy, Puranic literature and of Classical Sanskrit. Her well-acclaimed books are Bhāsarvajña O Nyāyasāra and Divergence in Indian Philosophy. She is widely respected for her insightful research papers too.
