The Bhagavad Gita is a treasure house of wisdom. But the modern students facing stiff competition and increasing consumerism all around wonder as to whether Gita’s teachings can help them to become better students and live meaningfully. They look for guidance in this matter. This booklet containing some of the central ideas of the Gita in a students perspective is a move taken in this direction.
This is an attempt to place some of the central ideas of the Gita in a students’ perspective. It is a topical selection of Gita verses keeping a student in mind. To keep it concise, each chapter of this booklet contains only four verses. The translation and transliteration of verses have been taken from Swami Tapasyanandas book on Bhagavad Gita published from this Math. The references are given at the end of each verse in bracket (chapter. verse). Swami Vivekananda’s quotes have been appropriately added at the end of each verse (CW refers to the Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda.
We are optimistic that this booklet will help the students in meeting life with greater maturity and understanding. It will also, we are sure, act like an appetizer for them to read the whole book and benefit from it.
