Vinayak Almalkar is currently working as Associate Professor in the Department of Dravyaguna at SDMT'S Ayurvedic Medical College, Terdal, Dist: Bagalkot (Karnataka). He completed his post-graduation studies from Shri J.G. Co-operative Hospital Society's Ayurvedic Medical College, Ghataprabha, Dist: Belgaum (Karnataka). He has good knowledge of the subject and completed seven years of service in the field of teaching.

It is considered to be the best amongst the existing works enhance exceedingly regarding various medicinal plant species, including Ahara vargas and Anekata varga.
