Medicinal plants research in India has been carried out at a very fast pace in the last 25 years. The number of journals publishing information on medicinal plants has increased enormously all over the world. It is becoming increasingly difficult for the research workers to keep track of the work carried out since many journals are inaccessible resulting in unwittingly repeating the research carried out earlier. This Bibliography attempts to provide updated information till the year 2007 on work carried out in the fields of Pharmacognosy and Pharmacology of Medicinal Plants of India including some exotics/introduced/naturalized species. The Bibliography incorporates information on 1521 species, distributed over 851 genera. The plants are arranged alphabetically. This is followed by authors name, arranged alphabetically (not year wise), year, full title of paper as mentioned in journal, name of journal with volume, issue and page numbers. At the end, MAPA (Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Abstracts published from NISCAIR, CSIR, India) reference is provided wherever available; the first digits correspond to the year, followed by issue number and the last digits to the item number of the specific work in the respective issue of MAPA. This helps to obtain a easy and quick reference of the abstract of the respective paper. The original title of paper is unchanged. References to papers are repeated under all species if multiple plants are included in the paper.
