God sisters, initiated disciples of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada between 1966 through Nov 1977 were asked the following question: "After so many years, your life is still reposed around Srila Prabhupada's lotus feet. Why?" What are your memories and how has it changed your life? The answer to these questions begot fragrant flowers for a garland of memories that we have offered to Srila Prabhupada together with gratitude: A Bond of Love: Srila Prabhupada and His Daughters.
The intention of this book is to document Srila Prabhupada's exchanges with his female disciples for the benefit of existing and future members of ISKCON as well as for anyone interested in knowing more about our beloved spiritual master and how he deeply and personally affected the lives of his beloved women disciples (spiritual daughters). Most of the available books are from the men's perspective and there's not so much out there by or about his female disciples. We want to amend that perception. Our intentions for this book include:
1. To insure that Srila Prabhupada's women disciples' voices are on record for posterity.
2. To show how his women disciples strongly felt Srila Prabhupada's signature love and care.
3. To reveal the instructions and lessons Srila Prabhupada imparted to his women disciples.
4. To show that Srila Prabhupada had equal love and affection for both his male and female disciples, giving both due credit for their lovingly performed services.
5. To show how Srila Prabhupada transcended the constraints of physical age, time, place, and mundane social customs as he implemented standards of ancient teachings and included the participation of women in his successful effort to establish a worldwide mission.
