This book is a collection of 66 articles of R.K. Sinha. The Articles are well researched and the writer has taken special care to see to it that there is no. deviation from the theme of the subject written about. The Articles were published in many newspapers and read by large number of readers who definitely would not have missed the flow of the language.
This is not the only introduction of the book. I would like to narrate a short story to unfold R.K. Sinha's background as a journalist. I was in Patna some time back. I rang up my old friend and colleague Surendra Kishore, and visited his new house. Rather than calling him to meet me at some central place in Patna, I preferred to visit him at his new house. The reason was, Surendra Kishore is one of few journalists who has his 'reference library' built over decades with great care and interest. I wanted to see it.
When we were in conversation, it was difficult to miss reference of a fortnightly magazine in Hindi published from Delhi, which I edit and R.K. Sinha is its Chairman. When Sinha's name cropped up in discussion, Surendra Kishore recalled an incident, some 50 years ago, which proved a turning point in the life of Suendraji.
In 1960s, R.K. Sinha, who wrote with his full name in credit line as 'Ravindra Kishore Sinha', was an icon for journalists then. There was flow and consistency in R.K. Sinha's writings.
Impressed by Sinha's style of journalism, Surendraji added Kishore in his surname and from 'Surendra Akela' he became 'Surendra Kishore'.
One can find dozens of R.K. Sinha's articles published in Dharmyug and Maya magazines which had readership of many lakhs then. Surendra Kishore has many articles of R.K. Sinha in his library. It will be difficult to say, if one will have problem in finding articles of R.K. Sinha published in Pradeep, Hindi daily and Searchlight, English daily published from Patna then, because the Communists who supported the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had burnt the offices of the two Patna dailies during the JP movement of 1974-75. Patna edition of Hindustan, Hindi daily and Hindustan Times, English daily emerged am the ashes of Pradeep and Searchlight.
If I say that from this book R.K. Sinha has re-emerged as a journalist, you will tend to agree with me. Noted Hindi poet Dinkar wrote that life provide opportunity to people to take rebirth in life. Our 'Shastra too say that this happens and a person who takes rebirth in his or her life time is called 'Dwij'. It is something extraordinary one's life. I can say that R.K. Sinha is now playing sing in his life as a journalist after a gap of 50 years or so.
