Many empirically used Indian drugs with therapeutic utility are proven under the aegis of CCRH and documented in the form of Monograph.
A newly proven drug by the Council is 'Cassia fistula', a tropical plant of Indian origin. The work on this drug monograph is taken up after realizing its therapeutic utility and its comprehensive research findings in areas of Drug Standardization, Drug Proving and Clinical Verification by the Council's scientists. These processes help to unfold the potentiality and the various spheres of the action of the drug. It is only after a nourishing research on the drug that the Council is publishing this work. The infinitesimal dosage has unraveled the potentiality of the drug in its different spheres of mind, respiratory, musculoskeletal and gastrointestinal system.
The results of proving of 'Cassia fistula', as I see promise a wider therapeutic application.
It is for the profession now to take up the lead and make use of these indications in treatment of diseases to further authenticate the published work.
