Dr. V.P.Shukla was born in April 1,1936 in an agricultural based zamindar family in a village of Mirzapur dt. He was a retired officer from a grade post of Regional Research Scientist. Studied astrology as swaadhyaaya (self study) for over two decades and he contributed exensively to the Astrological magazine for a very long time. After retirement from the government service, he started writing in English and Hindi for several astrological magazines. His major interest has been marital affairs. He was conferred Ph.D degree by the faculty of medical studies of the Open University for Complementary Medicines, Colombo in 1997. A regular contributor to the Astrological Magazine (Bangalore), and Hindi journals like Bharatiya Nakshatravani, (Lucknow), Triskanda jyotisham (Vaaranasi), Jyotish evam vastu (Jaipur),Askhara astrology (sawai Madhopur), to name a few. He has published around 50 research based articles in different facts of astrology.
The chapters in this book have been collated from articles presented by Dr.V.P.Shukla, a long time scholar and writer of astrology and an erstwhile doyen of astrology, in various astrological Magazines, lectures presented by him at various seminars at different places in india and one lecture given at All India Radio. These chapters form completely re-edited version of his articles published long time back in series, in different issues of erstwhile Indian Astrology Magazine and other astrological magazines elsewhere, and two unpublished articles. These articles present a highly informative aspects of the concepts like Drekkana, Hora and trimsamsa, the Time of conception and the Dhana yogas etc. All these chapters are well documented with critical analysis from different case studies presented to Dr.Shukla during his practice by various individuals and gives a detailed introduction to the concepts. These chapters present a cogent picture of the different facets and help at arrive at a definitive conculsion for the analysis.
These articles were given to me before he passed away in 2008 for publication in a book format and have been lying for a longtime due to lethargic indetermination to release them in a book form, considering the mammothness of resetting the text and tables in its present form. It was felt that the present literature on astrology has been languishing for concise and precise analysis of the astrological concepts from astrological charts and these articles will help in preparing the learner and the practitioner to understand the intricacies of analysis of concepts.
It is hoped that these articles will form an introduction to fur- ther studies on zodiacal charts in a systematic way and enrich the literature of astrological prediction in reaching at a more fruitful and comprehensive results in determining the career and other aspects.
We hope the present book will also be accepted by the astrologer community and the learners as his earlier book.
