The book is an introduction to the central ideas and concepts of thought and consciousness. Thought and consciousness appear to be inexorably intertwined, and inextricably linked, of course, powered by the mind. The phenomenological mind is the information processor as well as the locus of consciousness. The book tries to tap into what goes on in the black box of the mind- thought and consciousness. The gift of thought creates mental images, and the gift of consciousness brings images to life into our experience. The book demonstrates the tremendous power of thought, and provides a rather perspective on the nature of consciousness. The author focuses on consciousness, elements of thought, types of thinking, powers of thought, functions of thought, and theory of mind. Thinking is where our minds create thoughts about the situation, and consciousness is the awareness focused on the situation. The three psycho-spiritual principles- mind, consciousness, and thought represent the fundamental causal principles of human psychological experiences. Our life is just a series of thoughts, one after the other, created by ourselves. Consciousness is the sensory awareness of the body, the self, and the world. Consciousness in general, and the birth of consciousness in particular remain as key puzzles confronting the scientific worldview. The author has always been fascinated by what philosophers call the hard problem of consciousness, and he still has no idea how consciousness really works. The book helps readers to use their minds to navigate their life and derive their sense of life. It is our nature that we intentionally generate our own personal experience of life.
We are what our thoughts are and our thoughts have powers of their own. The mind is everything-what we think we become. To be truly conscious, we need to be fully aware within our mind. There is no limit to the power of thought the more concentrated the human mind is, the more power is brought to bear on one point. We all have accumulated a life time mental thoughts, beliefs, and opinions. Hidden in our thoughts are our immense potentials and unknown possibilities. Thought is a vital living force in the universe, and thoughts are living things, which move, shape, form, and power. Our mind is the key to our progress and success as it is the powerhouse of thoughts. Thoughts are dormant seeds of action and thoughts constitute the mind. A mind fired by the power of imagination and the desire to achieve will lead to greatness. We do not know whether we have been diligent in discriminating between right and wrong. We do not know we have been negligent in choosing the right thoughts, right paths, and right attitudes. We all have desires and we do not know how much we achieved of theses desires. Thoughts really do become things.
Our mental states influence our circumstances and they create the experiences of life. Our mental images are generally distorted, and our thinking is shallow. It is essential to know that we are important and realize the power of our thought is stronger on our lives. An idle life is a product of morbid thoughts. The ultimate key to our intellectual growth is when we allow our mind to be fully conscious. Our will-power develops when we reject every sensual, or temptation, or harsh thoughts. The problem seems that fear and doubt gets in our way of life, but we strive for material riches. Our desires are galvanized by the power of thought, which are invigorated or vitalized We never try to destroy the thoughts of fear, hate, or lust, which induce disharmony, depression, and despair. Our thoughts reach out to others through our words and expressions, which influence people both positively and negatively. Thought is expressed in words and executed in deeds. Positive thoughts lead to positive states of mind us rich rewards. Negative thoughts influence in negative ways bringing us pain and suffering.
