Preface There is a small ashram known as Tripura Yogashram on the banks of the holy Ganga in Kankhal a well-known suburb of the Godly city Haridwar My journey of authoring this book began there The founder of this ashram, Swami Amlanand, was a saint of sare excellence He was known for his landness and generosity I had come to seek his blessings in 2008 It was my first meeting with him, but 1 was fortunate that he accepted me as a disciple and introduced me to the path of spirituality Swami Amianand ji completed his journey on this earth on July 25, 2014.

I did not know at that time that Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna had taken refuge in this ashram during their early days in Handwar. It cannot be a mere coincidence that I landed in the same Ashram, in pursuit of sell-realisation, and many years later was presented with opportunity to write the biography of Acharya Balkrishna.

How much keeps transpinng on this earth every moment to link the past, the present and the future.

In 2015, during my stay at Tripura Yogashram, I happened to see an old photo album that contained several pictures of Acharya Balkrishna and Swami Ramdev with my Guru Swami Amlanand jt I became curious to know as to how these two famed people were associated with Swami Amlanand Upon enquiring from the people at the ashram, I learnt that Acharya Balkrishna and Swami Ramdev had stayed at Tripura Yogashram for many years when they had no other place to stay in Haridwar Pundit Chintamani, the oldest resident of the ashram. told me that Swami Karamvir had brought themto the ashram. I had not heard of Swami Karamvir then. I asked pundit Chintamani if it was possible to meet Acharya Balkrishna He said. "I shall take you to him tomorrow" I did not believe what he said. But pundit meant it Next morning he took me an his two-wheeler to Kripalu Bagh ashram where Acharya Balkrishna lives presently A gate keeper stood guarding the entrance Pundit ji filled in the visitor's form and gave it to him. The gate keeper passed it on to another person, who took it inside.

He came back after a few minutes and advised that Acharya Balkrishna was busy in a meeting with some teachers. He said we could wait in the hall and he would arrange for us to meet Acharya Balkrishna before he left for his office There was no one in the hall at that time

After about half an hour, we heard some noises outside The security guards were in movement. Acharya ji was boarding his car Pundit ji rushed to his window, offered his Pranarn, and hastily introduced me to him. 1 remember exactly what I said to Acharya ji "I wish to speak with you Acharya ji asked us to come to his office and then left.

Pundit ji was not inclined to go to his office in Bahadrabad Bahadrabad was 20 kilometers away and Pundit ji had his clients booked in for some ntuals But he did not want to offend me either I was his guest and he had said to me numerous times that our scriptures considered guests to be equal to Gods.

We reached Patanjali Yogpeeth, phase 1, Acharya ji's office after about an hour. There was a long queue of visitors in the comdor. We were called in first.
