FOLK PAINTINGS
Vishwakarma, the architect of heaven, was instructed in the art and science of painting to transmit his knowledge to the people of the earth. In this tradition Telengana artists create "Kaki Padagollu" using the scroll paintings as visual aids to tell stories. Mythological stories painted on cloth run into several metres. Also on card board, plywood, hard board and paper. Ideal for wall hangings. Cherial in Warangal district is the traditional centre.

Clay and metal artifacts are offered by tribals to their deities Practised in Chittalbori and Ushegaon in Adilabad District. Birds, animals, a village deity, an occupational model, a chimney or a bell, figurines, horses, drummers, peculiar shaped spoons and unique tribal gods provide a wide range to choose from.

Highly intricate embroidery in metallic gold & silver thread. Mostly floral and geometrical motifs. Mogul designs. Fabric fitted in a frame called Karchobi. Sold in the shops of Lad Bazar and Pathergatti of old Hyderabad.
