We have already published a minor text called the Janodaya at the instance of the advisory committee of the Rare Buddhist Texts Research Project in the fourth issue of the Dhth. We, presently, bring out the Dakintjala-samipara-rahasyam, by Ananga Yogi also a minor work of the Anuttara Yoga class of the Buddhist tantras.
The subjects dealt in this text are the differentiation of the phenomenal and transcendental accomplishments, the virtues of the four abhisekar, the three kinds of ephemeral pleasure and the blissful state of imperishable aksara of one essence, mystic cognition of the Sama arameara of Sandhyabhasa, the manifestation of Kamariddhi as quintessence of the Vajrapada, heinous discharge of the sperm which is woesome as contrary to the inviolable control over the genital organ which bestows a Brahma effulgence or supreme enlightenment (buddhatea), the practice of the six systems of Yoga for achieving the status of the l'ajradhara, elaboration of the six systems of Yoga, elucidation of the theory of causation, defilement and elimination, the no-essence of bondage and freedom, denial of essence and no-essence and perceptivity of reality.
The author of this work is Ananga Yogi, as has been told by the author himself in the opening verse.
"Pranipatya Jagannatham dakini-jal-samvaram/Rahasyam paramam guhyam likhyate Anangayogina//"
It does not seem improbable that the author of this work is different from the famous Anangavajra whose texts are extant in Tibetan language.
The work in its diction and presentation of a recondite subject in a lucid and concise manner will, it is hoped, find appreciation of scholars and all those who would care to read it.
The text has been collated with the help of 3 manuscripts: 1. Guhyasamaya-Sadhnana-Sangrah, no 47, Script Dev. Folias 17(252-268) Complete in the private collections of Prof. J. Upadhyaya.
2. Dakini-gulya-Samaya-Sadhana-wala Tantraraja, photo-print no 3/719, folios viii (110-117); Script Devanagari complete; obtained from National Archive, Kathmandu Nepal.
3. Microfische, MBB II-140, Folios VII (92-98), Script Newări, Complete,
We crave indulgence of the scholars to offer their criticisms and suggestions in regard to factual and any other kind of textual mistakes or ambiguities which will be rectified in sucessive prints. We are grateful to those scholars and orgnisations through whom we have been able to procure the above manuscripts. A consistent and ungradging endeavour of our researchers, specially Pt. Janardan Pandeya who has brought this work of merit to a brilliant finish for which they deserve praise and thanks.
