Srila Rupa Gosvami (1489-1564 CE) appeared in vaklakandra - dvipa, West Bengal. Although he became the personal secretary to the king of bengal, he left of everything to dedicate himself to establishing Sri caitanya mahaprabhu's mission. he revealed krsna's pastime place in vrndavana, discovered the ancient deity of Sri Govinda, and wrote voluminously to establish Gaudiya vaisnava philosophy.
His writings, which display uncommon poetic beauty and unique brilliance in the logical thought , have been compared in importance to that of the evangelists in writing the gospels to establish christanity. His work and teaching are alive today in Vrndavana, a town of 5,000 temples, in his literature, which has been translated into a hundred languages, and in the hearts of Gaudiya Vaisnavas , who worship him for having revealed the innermost desire of the lord.
Sri Srimad bhaktivedanta Narayana Goswami Maharaja is the foremost disciple of the renowned rupanuga vaisnava Sri Bhakti Prajnana kesava Gosvami maharaja, and the siksa disciple of sri Srimad bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who was the first to propagate the mission of Sri Caitanaya Mahaprabhu all over the world.
For over forty years, Srila Maharaja taught the philosophy enunciated by Srila Rupa Gosvami throughout India. In 1996, he traveled to the west, and over the next thirteen year, crisscrossed the globe thirty times, inspiring thousands with his lectures. He also translated into Hindi more than fifty sanskrit and bengali classical texts. these writing have now been translated into numerous languages. These translation, published with his commentaries and exegesis by predecessor scholars , as well as his published Lectures on these topics, have set a standard of excellence in the publication of vaisnava literature.
