was ignorant about the greatness and the divinity of Maha Periyava till 30 years of my life and hence I did not make any effort to have His darshan till 1966, though I happened to pass through the street, where Periyava had camped. But Periyava did a miracle at my first look at Him in Sri Sailam. On His first sight at me He gave me 'Nayana Thiksha', by His penetrating look at me and dragged me to His feet just like a mag- net attracts iron. From that time onwards, I became His close disciple and an ardent devotee and started frequently visiting and staying with Him for some days, with my wife, Mangalam, in all His camps, at various places. We had lot of unique and thrilling ex- periences during our stay with Periyava, in His camps.

When I was working as 'Finance Officer' in the Gandhigram University during 1999, the famous writer on Periyava, Sri Bharanidharan came to attend a function. I requested him to add my experiences with Maha Periyava in any of his new books about Periyava. He suggested me to write a book of my own on my experiences, which would help future genera- tions. But then, I did not take it very seriously.

During 2009, I happened to tell my experiences with Periyava to my son Sri R.Narayanan. In order to share all these experiences, with my friends and rela- tives, my son took pains and published it in a book format, through 'MADIMA DHARMA SAMAJAM', on 17.08.2013, and distributed to all, free of cost.

As I have written this book after 40 years of my acquintance with Periyava, I had forgotten many con- versations with Periyava. Had I taken a note then and there, this could have been published as a much big- ger book.
