The author of this booklet, Swami Bhakti Rakşaka Śrīdhara Mahārāja, belongs to a succession of spiritual preceptors whose lineage can be traced back to the dawn of creation. In India this succession is called paramparā, which is considered to be of great importance because it assures that the authentic teachings of the revealed scriptures and the sages are understood and represented correctly.
Swami Śrīdhara Mahārāja was recognized throughout his life as an illustrious teacher of the path of bhakti-yoga, the yoga of divine love as propagated by Śri Caitanya, the great 15th Century avatāra and master of spiritual ecstasy. Additionally, Swami Śrīdhara Mahārāja was a brilliant scholar in Sanskrit, the sacred language of ancient India. He wrote numerous books, which, like this one, read like poetry and testify to a deep and profound understanding of the science of God-realization.
All who had the opportunity to meet Swami Sridhara Mahārāja before his passing away in 1988 were impressed by his saintly appearance and extraordinary radiance of sweetness and love. The sole mission of his life was to firmly establish the genuine theistic conclusions of India's spiritual wisdom as found in the timeless teachings of the Vedas. At the present time and age, the Vedas are misrepresented by many monistic gurus who have gained considerable popularity worldwide.
