Economic geography like all science, was developed under the influence of practical demands and its development has experienced incessant impulses from social life and definite demands. It studies the geographical changes which effect the economical condition and new developed modes to increase the economical growth. Economical growth varies place to place and time to time. Multinational trades started in ancient time, today has stood very strong.. Before the invention new modes of transport sea routes were the chief medium of transport. It took very long time to approach from one country to another. So, it must be investigated geographical causes which cause in economical growth, through this one must know the changes in economy from place to place. Economic geography the first time a more developed and independent form in the so called, financial statics that developed in Germany in the beginning of eighteenth Century.

Dr. Ahmad Husain, obtained his M.A., LL.B. and Ph.D. from the Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Having an academic record with marked distinction, Dr. Husain has long been recognised as a writer of geography books. He had served the North Eastern Hill University, Professor and Head of the Department respectively. He had been the Vice-President of the International Association of Landscape Ecology. Actively busy in research, he has published over a dozen of books and several papers in the national and international professional journals of geography.

The whole book is divided in the eight chapters and examines different facts under each head. First chapter "Development Economic Geography" throws light on different points-the necessity of historical approach, elements of economic geography in the literature of voyage, financial statics, commercial geography, the secterialstati approach, economic geographic descriptions in the regional geography etc.
