Our actions are driven by our thoughts. Swami Vivekananda highlighted great secret of work in which he said, "One of the greatest lessons I have learnt in my life is to pay as much attention to the means of work as to its end... We forget that it is the cause that produces the effect; the effect cannot come of itself; and unless the causes are exact, proper, and powerful, the effect will not be produced."
In Bhagawad Gita, Lord Krishna says, "Karmanyevadhikarasthe ma phaleshu kadachana" i.e. you have right to work and not to the fruits thereof. The most hindrance in our effective way of doing a given work is the feeling, 'sense of doership". Our ego and individual traits interfere with our working and sap our mental energy. This limits our abilities to work with our full potential.
