It gives me immense pleasure to congratulate Mr. Satish Verma, senior journalist, for writing the book An Encounter with Pakistan's Reality. This is the English version of a book in Hindi (on the same topic) written by Satish Verma.

Satish Verma has created space for himself in the journalist circles with his writings throughout the globe. He has worked hard in the militancy-prone state of Jammu & Kashmir for over two decades. He has a lot of experience in this field. This book assumes importance in view of the strained Indo-Pakistani relationships. I hope that this book will help in normalization of relationships between India and Pakistan, especially between the civil societies of both these countries. These two societies have been the worst suffers due to many reasons. I hope that An Encounter with Pakistan's Reality will surely add another feather to the writer's cap. It would also normalise the relationships between the two nations, who belong to the same society.

I extend my compliments and good wishes to Satish Verma. May he continue to be as prolific in his writing as he in his professional journalistic duties! Amen.

At present Pakistan is encircled with such a hurricane that not only disturbs India but also hammers its own people. Terrorism has created an immense fear into the minds and hearts of common people of Pakistan. They hardly believe that they will come back their homes after day's work. Farukh Ahmed is also facing this deadly situation. He is a resident of Lahore and had visited Delhi with his one and half year son for treatment. There was a hole in the heart of his little child. As we all know that medical treatment is very costly in the countries like America and Britain, so Farukh Ahmed found India within his reach as India provides best possible treatment in very reasonable cost. With the grace of Allah (God) son of Farukh got best treatment and became fully cured. But today Farukh is more sad, he finds terrorism making deep holes in the hurt of their nation and this has become a continuous process. Who will fill these holes? Every Pakistani is suffering from these holes. Farukh Ahmed wants to see India and Pakistan in a better relationship. He thanks Allah and expresses his view that lakhs of Pakistani can be treated in India as his son was treated, but it can not be possible without better relationship. Still Farukh Ahmed carries a hope that blessings of millions of Pakistani will make India and Pakistan a true friend. Actually at present Pakistan is facing danger of such volcano that can erupt any moment. I realized this fact during my visit to Pakistan, Northern Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. After discussing with various thoughtful personalities on Ground zero, I came on conclusion that coming years would be very difficult for Pakistanis. An era of downfall has already started. Pakistan has become the homes of hardcore fundamentalists and various terrorist groups.
