About the Author Rev. Dr. M. Stephen hails from Kottayam (Kerala, India) is a writer, orator and author. He has authored around 30 books in Malayalam and English. He received his B.A. and MA (in English Literature) from Kerala University, B.D. (UBS, Pune) and M.Th. (UTC, Bengaluru) from Serampore University (West Bengal), and Doctorate (Th.D) from Dharmaram Vidyakshetram: Pontificial Athenaeum of Philosophy and Theology, Bengaluru. He is a theological teacher and teaches theology and ethics at Faith Theological Seminary, Manakala Adoor, Kerala. The famous publishers such as 'Concept', 'Serials' and ISPCK have published his books. Human Rights: Contextual Issues, Christian Ethics: Issues and Insights, and Introducing Post-Modernism and Post-Colonialism are published by Concept, Delhi.

Introduction This book 'Ethics and the Community of God' has reflection on current social, Biblical and theologico ethical issues. It deals with transparency, justice, suffering, mission, education, prophets, Jubilee and nation of Israel. It also substantially deals with the crises in ethics which appears in the form of double morality. The political struggle of Martin Luther King Jr. is also discussed in this book.

The witness of nation of Israel among nations, the role of prophets in social justice, the ethical dilemma, and different common social issues are discussed in this book. Hope this book will enable us to examine ourselves to evolve a transformed community. The community of God should have a public witness in the morally corrupt society.

Christian witness involves the life of integrity and transparency. We should address the questions of the powerless and work for their emancipation. It is important to have another regarding life and to stand for the dignity and rights of the poor. The prime importance should be given to the integral liberation of the marginalized in mission. It is very significant to listen to the voices of the marginated people and to make positive response to them. Hope this book may provide insights to reflect meaningfully on the issues around and to take adequate measures to resolve them.
