The word 'Tarot' is supposed to have derived from the Indo-European name of Primal Goddess Tara (Mother Earth) equivalent to Terra Mater (Latin), Terah (Hebrew), and Turan (Etruscan). Also, Tar-Ro means the 'royal road' in Egyptian.
