All over the world people celebrate festivals. A day in a year is set aside to honour gods, to celebrate a harvest, or to remember an event in history. But no other country celebrates so many festivals as India does.

This series, titled Our Festivals, is presented in a story form to hold a child's interest. The books bring out the fun and joy that festivals exude, in their description of the decorated homes and streets, the exchange of gifts, and the prayers, singing and dancing that form a major part of each festival. And most important, children learn and experience togetherness that is so much part of a festival
