I owe the initiation and development of my interest in flower gardening to my parents. Every day. I walked by flower beds with them. We commented on their beauty and every day, there was a new facet to notice, a new colour opening up to the world. It is, always, the best way to start the day.
Along with them, I took keen interest in devising landscape plans for vast areas during the course of assignments with informal and formal plantings inspired by the riotous colours from seasonal flowers, bulbous flowers, roses, chrysanthemums, dahlias, liliums and many more in herbaceous borders and pots.
But, practically, every flower enthusiast asks for more. It is true for me too. In tiny spots, there is just not enough space for an adequate range of colourful shrubs to provide flowers from summer to winter seasons. In large gardens there is a need of flowers which cannot be met by woody plants alone. There are large beds to fill, rockeries to clothe and borders to furnish. For all these uses, from filling tiny cracks between paving stones to displaying plate sized flowers against pruned hedges and shrubs, we look towards to seasonal flowering plants that are great for these places. This choice of flowering plants makes it easy to gardeners to harvest all of the happiness and warmth of the seasons. Large range of colours and sizes with long flowering periods and amazing flower heads in profusion that explode into blooms in early to late seasons on compact plants with fine foliage are available in annual and bulbous flowers. Like me, flower lovers want to surround themselves with riotous beauty and colours of special favourites roses, dahlias, liliums, chrysanthemums, daffodils, so there will never be a dull moment.
We now live in completely different horticultural world. New research findings continuously provide an astonishing array of annual flowers useful in the trade of cut and dried flowers as well as in garden designs and containers.
