Ravindranath's Geetanjali won worldwide recognition. It is translated into the most of the civilised languages of the world. It got him the Nobel Prize in 1913. The foreigners' thought that the gates of Oriental learning are open to them through Geetanjali. Sri Chintakunta Suryanarayana has translated Geetanjali into Sanskrit verse with his own English commentary. I am particularly interested in the (Sanskrit translation, I do not propose to dilate on his English commentary and to explain where Tagore deferred from the original Hindu concept of God and Godliness. I am confining myself to the Sanskrit Text.

When a work of poetical art is translated into a language other than the original, then, having regard to the new idiom and style adopted by the translator, and depending on its efficacy to stir the heart, for which each language has its special modes and devices, the result may well be regarded as a transcreation.
