Dr Gopikrishna 5 Acharya is presently working as Professor & Head in the department of Roga Nidan Evam Vikriti Vigyan in Guru Gorakshnath Institute of Medical Sciences (Ayurveda College), Mahayogi Gorakhnath University, Gorakhpur (MGUG), Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. He is having the teaching as well as clinical experience of more than 18 years in the field of Roga Nidana Evam Vikriti Vigyan. He is very much skilled in simplifying the concepts of Roga Nidana Evam Vikriti Vigyan. His key area of expertise is applying the principles of physics, chemistry, biology, physiology. pathophysiology and Ayurveda fundamentals and attaining deep dive understanding in interlinking above information. His another major area of expertise is his unique understanding of concept of Rogamarga and its application.

He has completed his B.A.M.S. from Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda & Hospital, Udupi, Karnataka under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, Karnataka in 2001; and M.D. (Ayu) in Roganidana Evam Vikriti Vigyanin the year 2006. He has completed his PhD in Kayachikitsa from Sri Dharmastbala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda, Kuthpady under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, Karnataka. He has guided several PG scholars and PhD scholars. He has attended various national and international conferences, seminars, workshops and presented research papers in them. He has published many research articles in various national and international journals. He has been invited as guest speaker in several national and international seminars held across India.
