About the Book
This 3-in-1 omnibus volume presents Goswami Tulsidas' 2 major texts-Geetawali (V. S. 1625-1628) and Barvai Ramayan (V. S. 1670) besides a Sanskrit composition called Ram Raksha Stotra.
Geetawali is a classic composition narrating the divine story of Lord Ram in the poetic style called Geet set to the tunes and lyrics of various Raagas. It displays Tulsidas' versatile acumen and matchless prowess as a poet, a musician, a devotee par-excellence and a maveric player with words. It is a veritable emotional Hindola (swing) which takes us in an oscillating ride of euphoria, exhilaration, ecstasy and merriment on one hand and despair, gloom, remorse, contrition, agonies, sorrows, torment and tribulations on the other.
Barvai Ramayan on the other hand is short, clipped and crisp composition in the poetic style called Barvai consisting of 2-line couplets. Here details are omitted and the divine story is told by citing the main events only. The emphasis here is on the importance of Sri Ram's holy name.
Ram Raksha Stotra is a classical Sanskrit composition which are essentially hymns or prayers which are very dear to the hearts of and popular with the lord's devotees.
This omnibus volume not only describes the magnificent beauty of the Lord in glittering and enchanting verses, and by extension of Nature, but also highlights the divine and spiritual message which is an elixir for the soul.
