God created man as one of the countless creations. But man created many Gods and religions. The man made Gods blinded him from seeing the real God. Our world is divided over religions, each claiming their God as the only God. In India too, in spite of our great cultural and philosophical heritage based on universal brotherhood and unity of God, we seem to be losing our religious tolerance and interfaith harmony and fellowship. `
Growing up with Gods' is one of the many articles in this book. In this article I recall my childhood and adolescent years when my parents and elders imbibed in me the realization of unity of God and interfaith harmony and religious tolerance through stories and discussions. With this back ground, I present other articles which are woven around some of my recent experiences on the growing disharmony, the lack of trust, the different interpretations of Tlindurya', the sense and nonsense, the sublime and the absurd, thoughts on the subject. These are partly fiction and partly fact. I hope these eighteen articles contained in this book will not only make interesting reading, but will provoke the readers to become agents of change to bring greater religious harmony and make all Indians proud of our Indian heritage irrespective of religion, class and community.
