The Ashram complex today occupies more than a hundred acres of land at Pothen code alone. It consists of the Prayer Hall. Parasol. Sahakarana. 'Mandiram. work centres. kitchen.
dining hall and facilities to accommodate more than fifteen hundred inmates.
Santhigiri Ashram. an institution aimed at propagating the teachings of Guru. functions as a registered voluntary charitable non- government organization. Navajyothi Sree Karunakara Guru has initiated a new spirituality and culture beyond caste. creed, religion or nationality. The words of Guru act as a corrective force removing the obstacles in the process of our living.
Ashram is now well known in India and abroad. Hundreds of devotees, well-wishers and tourists 'visit Ashram daily. The Ashram is more than an institution; it is a parampara, a society of people following the teachings of the Guru (Guru-Disciple lineage). Branches of the Ashram have been established in all the districts of Kerala and several cities in India. The 'first prayer hall of the Santhigiri Ash- ram outside India, in Mexico (Jalapa), was dedicated to the Guru in 2004.
Inspired by the Guru, the Ashram is engaged in research in social sciences and indigenous system's of medicine and various other fields. Documentation and Research is being initiated on the life and teachings of the Guru as well. It would involve an exploration into the evolution of the soul (jiva) based on what goes on in one's life (karma).
The character and work of a person are determined by the quality of the soul. Performance of karma according to the Divine Law (dharma) improves one's character and work. Only a true Guru, who has access to the mysteries of life, can guide not only an inquisitive soul in that search but also the humankind in that dharma.
