Agadatantra is a very important & special branch amongst Ayurveda Ashtangas. It contains the knowledge regarding various animate & inanimate poisons, forensic medicine, Medical Jurisprudence (Vyavahara Ayurveda & Vidhi Vaidyaka). It is a challenging subject for students to learn, understand & pass for exams. The purpose of this book's writing is to assist students in overcoming these challenges and achieve higher scores in examinations.

DR. JYOTHI SAJAYAN is currently working as an Associate Professor & HOD (Agadatantra) Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College, Palakkad -Kerala. She has obtained B.A.M.S Degree from Nangelil Ayurveda Medical College -M.G. University, Kerala (2012), Post Grad- uation (Agadatantra) from SDM College of Ayurveda, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, Karnataka (2016), and P.G Certification in Forensic Medicine & Toxicology From International Forensic Sciences Edu. Dept. (IFS) (2021). Now pursuing a PhD in Parul University, Gujarat. The Author has 6+ years of experience in teaching and also performing as an Organizer and Facilitator in various programmes of Ayurveda.

Agadatantra one among Ashtangas of Ayurveda and is also called Visha Chikitsa or Damshtra chikitsa which mainly dealing with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of various animate and inanimate poisoning. This also includes food poisoning and environmental toxicity. The relevance of this subject in the current scenario is very high as we are facing all these issues in its maximum level.

Though it is such an important subject widely applied in Ayurveda, the references regarding visha is scattered among various samhitas. Agadatantra curriculum also contains Vyavahara Ayurveda and Vidhivaidhyakam which means the legal aspects of medicine. All these topics making the subject difficult for the students to learn, understand and pass for the exams. This book made to organize the Syllabus in an easy way to provide a guidance for the Ayurveda student community to overcomes all these challenges.
