The Vedic texts have been studied by several scholars in order to present studies of different aspects of the life of the Vedic people. They express divergent views as some of them think that they were pastoral people having negligible concern with other aspects of material life. On the other hand, a few of them opine that they were deeply religious and mystic people detached from the worldly concern. The main cause of the divergence of the opinion is that the Vedic texts were composed and compiled by several persons spread over in long span of time. once these represent different stages of development and changes that took place at least from Circa 1500-600 В.С.
