It was the evening of August 2019 when I saw my uncle in the hospital, dressed up and waiting for a special test, sitting in a wheelchair, looking vulnerable, helpless, and scared. He embraced my hands with his cold, trembling hands as if to hold on to some assurance of 'All is Well' while looking down from the edge of a steep cliff.
I too felt helpless! What else could I do for a person staring at the face of some life-threatening ailment, other than to help him in getting whatever medical treatment could be available? But that is all about some external support. What about the internal war that person is fighting alone? I wished I should personally be kind of inside him and be of some 'direct' help to him to pull him back to his normal life. But I was not a doctor. Nor a magician. And being a skeptic, I had almost no trust in prayers and paranormal works. I felt I have no powers to cure him.
I had always passed through this feeling of helplessness, whenever I happened to see somebody close to me caught in a lonely struggle to claim back his life!
But that evening was the tipping point!
A resolution started shaping up in my mind. A few years back, I had learned hypnotism and had known its effectiveness. But I also knew its limits. It required the active participation of the other person whom we would treat. Most of the people may not be in that position-say a child or an old person who is mentally challenged. I needed some methods of 'direct' intervention with a person's body intelligence. A name popped up in my mind - Pranic Healing! Some time ago, I was seeing a good Pranic Healer in the city for a few of my relatives and had seen the results. Why should I myself not become a healer? After all, I had read a lot about Mind-Body medicines, I knew the science of belief, and I was convinced that our thoughts and emotions directly affect our health. So, could taking up the studies in Energy Medicine such as Pranic Healing be an option? A few years back, I had just browsed through a book Pranic Healing. But that time I could not quite get into it. Now, the topic surfaced again. I am still not sure why I thought that to be the only way forward even when it didn't appear to be a complete substitute for the conventional treatments, but the very next week, I got myself enrolled in the courses which taught this method of on energy healing.
On the very first day, we all in the batch were asked one question- Why we had decided to learn Pranic Healing?
Amongst others, a spontaneous answer came to my lips, "Because I am fed up of living only for myself! Let me now live for others too. If I become a healer, I think, I will have my own way of helping others to live their lives better!" I had said.
