Why is there so much chaos in this world? This book may help the reader to understand the influence thoughts and actions have on the way we relate to our' inner selves, to human and non-human beings and to the universe.
In an interesting and stimulating manner, the author describes how we influence and are influenced by our surroundings:
Thus "we may understand better the" effects of all that "we are, and do and of all our relationships, so that we are better able to regulate our thoughts and actions in such a way as' to contribute to peace and harmony .in the world.
Charles Webster Lead beater (1847-1934) was a Church of England" clergyman till he joined the Theosophical Society in 1883. He spent some years in Sri Lanka working for the revival of Buddhism. In 1893 he commenced his clairvoyant investigations, on occasions collaborating with Annie Besant, the second President of the Theosophical Society. His books unveiled the hidden side of things and the life beyond death. His lectures worldwide presented a new viewpoint to thousands of people. It was he who discovered the great potential of J. Krishnamurti and educated him with a view to his future work.
This book has been in contemplation, and even in process of construction, for the last ten or twelve years, but only now has it been found possible to publish it. It has lost nothing by the delay, for a student of the occult never ceases to learn, and I know a good deal more in various ways now than I did twelve years ago, even though I see still more clearly than ever what infinity of further knowledge stretches before us for our acquiring.
Much of what is written here has appeared in the form of articles in The Theosophist and elsewhere; but all has been revised, and considerable additions have been made. I trust that it may help some brothers to realize the importance of that far larger part of life which is beyond our physical sight - to understand that, as the Lord Buddha himself has taught us:
The unseen things are more.
