Over the years, The Hindu's weekly page on education has evoked considerable interest of educators and of the general reading public alike. The articles which appeared have covered practically the entire field from pre-school education to pursuit of research degrees. at the university level and to vocational and professional education.
The collection of articles and editorials that appear in this volume relate to the period 1994-1996. There are 80 articles which represent a large cross-section of contributions made by many professional specialists. They have been presented for ease of study and reference in five sections namely:
